Was there an error you noticed after you made your donation? Below are a few common mistakes we can help with when a donation is made on Bright Funds.

Duplicate charge

If you see a duplicate charge on your statement for your a donation that you made, please contact our Support Team at support@brightfunds.org, and we would be happy to assist.

Wrong donation amount or currency

If you donated the wrong amount or in the wrong currency, you can request a refund as long as the donation occurred within the same month. For example, if you donated via credit card or PayPal January 1, but noticed the amount was wrong on January 12, you can request a refund before the end of January.

If you like to have a donation canceled and refunded, please send the donation ID, found on your My Donations page, to our Support Team at support@brightfunds.org, and we would be happy to help!

Refunds are processed as soon as possible, and reflect back on your statement within 5-10 business days.

Please note, for donations made via Bank Account/Bank Transfer, the refund process may take longer as the funds take up to 7 days to settle into Bright Funds. Once the funds are settled and confirmed, our team can begin the refund process.

Donated to wrong organization

If you donated to the wrong organization, we can redirect your donation as long as you reach out the same month as when your original donation was made.

For example, if you donated January 1, but noticed the wrong organization was selected, you can request a redirect of your donation before the end of January.

You can use our Explore page to search for your organization that you intended to receive your donation. Please send the below information to our team, and we can get your donation redirected:

  • Donation ID for the incorrect organization recipient (found on your My Donations page)
  • The name, charity ID or Bright Funds link to the organization you want to receive your donation

Please note: the organization you requested to redirect the donation to must be eligible to receive donations in Bright Funds in order for the donation to be redirected.
