Was your donation sent, and your nonprofit hasn't receive the check yet? We know mail can get lost or be mistaken for junk mail, and our team is happy to help as best we can.
Checks are valid for 90 days from the date on the check, and if it remains uncashed after the 90 days, our team can submit a reissue request.
Here are some common instances on requesting a reissue.
If check is still valid within the 90 day window
If the check is still valid, but you are wanting to request it be reissued, the donation check would be subject to a $25 early cancellation fee. This is to cover processing costs in order to cancel and reissue the check.
You can reach out to our team at support@brightfunds.org to request the reissue. Please provide your donation ID (found through your My Donations page) and our team can assist.
If the check is no longer valid after the 90 day window
If your nonprofit received the check, but did not deposit it within the 90 days, OR if the check never arrived, we can reissue without the cancellation fee applied.
We encourage all nonprofits to register for a reissue (and any future monthly disbursements) via ACH. Here is an article you can share with them to sign up for ACH, should they be interested.
Please contact our team at support@brightfunds.org with your donation ID (found through your My Donations page) and/or the name/EIN of your nonprofit.
How long does a reissue take?
Once the reissue request is submitted to our Nonprofit team, it is added to the queue. You can expect a new check or a wire to go through within 7-10 business days.
